ARCHITECTS: Marcin Kościuch, Tomasz Osięgłowski
COORDINATORS: Łukasz Piszczałka, Kamila Dembińska, Przemysław Fedorczuk
SPACE: 600 m²
STATUS: under construction

Form:

This is a project for a small boutique hotel in the center of Poznań. The building was designed on a historic villa estate on Marii Konopnickiej Street, in the Lazarz district. When we started work, we received very precise guidelines for the form - the height of the building, the shape of the roof, the maximum height of the eaves and the binding building line were specified.

Idea:

We were inspired by the surrounding urban villas from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Some of them were built of brick and covered with ceramic tiles, creating the effect of buildings with almost identical color of walls and roofs. We wanted to achieve the same effect in our project, but using contemporary materials. Therefore, the entire body of the hotel was clad in one material - expanded corten sheet. This created a uniform, dark red body, referring in character to the buildings standing in the neighborhood.
