Surrounding
This is a project for a small boutique hotel to be built on one of the last plots of land in a historic 19th-century district of Poznań. Analyzing the surrounding buildings, we noticed that most of the buildings had brick facades and tiled roofs, both of which are ceramic and come from clay, and give the buildings a uniform color . The plot also had development conditions, which dictated such parameters as the height of the building, the angle of the roof and the level of the eaves. The hotel itself is a three-story building with an attic and underground parking. The first floor will house a reception area and a restaurant with a patio, while 16 hotel rooms of various sizes are planned for the upper floors.
Idea
Based on these requirements and an analysis of the local architecture, we developed a design for a building with a form reminiscent of the surrounding urban villas, whose walls and roof are covered with the same material. In our case, it is modern corten ? a steel cut and drawn sheet, which oxidizes under the influence of atmospheric conditions, taking on a dark red color, referring to the red of the bricks and roof tiles of neighboring buildings.
