2024 House near Warsaw 2024

ARCHITECTS: Marcin Kościuch, Tomasz Osięgłowski
COORDINATOR: Anna Szewczyk
SPACE: 233m²
STATUS: unrealized

Location:

The house is designed on a triangular plot, adjacent to the streets on two sides and bordering a neighboring property. The plot is mostly wooded, with a large oak tree with a trunk diameter of nearly one meter in the center. According to the local zoning plan, the development area, setback lines, roof angles and maximum ridge and eave heights are specified.

Concept:

The investors provided guidelines for the building's function, indicating the need to include a recording studio and a gym. The building was proposed to consist of several blocks of different sizes and heights, covered with roofs of different slopes, but with a common ridge direction. This layout made it possible to blend the house between the trees, removing only three of them, and to separate functions that could interfere with each other. For example, the recording studio, due to the noise it generates, was moved away from the living area, providing peace and quiet for the householders.

Construction / Materials / Interiors:

The structure of the house will be constructed using monolithic reinforced concrete technology, which provides protection against potential damage from falling branches from nearby trees. Corrugated aluminum sheet was chosen for the facade, a durable material that is easy to maintain and allows for quick repairs without having to take down the entire facade or roof, which works well in a wooded environment. The sheet metal, thanks to the properties of aluminum, limits the heating of the surface, reflecting some of the sun's rays, which has a positive effect on the building's energy balance.
