ARCHITECTS: Marcin Kościuch, Tomasz Osięgłowski
COOPERATION :
AREA: 300 m²
STATUS: in progress

Location

The site is a plot of land which meets the road in the north and slopes gently down towards the bank of the Warta river in the south. It is located in a small village full of fences, small barns, sheds, most often made of vertically stacked boards which have already turned grey.

Idea

It is these objects, the light that penetrates them, their material, their colour, that are the inspiration for this house. It is also a set of walls, fences protecting from the necessary, but otherwise troublesome neighbourhood of the road.

Function

The house itself consists of three parts set parallel to the street. The first is low, containing elements of the technical structure of the house (boiler rooms, garage, laundry rooms) and a less used guest room. The second high zone is the communication zone, which by its height is a natural buffer against street noise, and distributes us around all the rooms of the house. The third one is the living area, with the living zone on the ground floor and the sleeping zone on the ground floor, arranged in such a way that every important room has a view of the south and the Warta river winding below. It is protected from excessive sunlight by shutters, whose size is rather reminiscent of gates. The house will be complemented by an orchard.
